Agritourism on a hilltop with a panoramic view
The Farm of Pietrafitta has ancient origins, an history that starts in 961 a.C., when Pietrafitta was a part of Fosci's feud, property of Marquis Ugo Salico di Toscana. The name Pietrafitta comes from a milestone that marked off the boundaries of the land: now is a land in between tradition and renewal, a treasure hedgen by hills in front of the medieval city of San Gimignano.
The property is made up of nine independent farms and the chapel that embellishes the XVI century villa, made by architect Bernardo Buontalenti, who decorated the Garden of Boboli and worked on Uffizi in Florence.
In the beginning of XV century the florentine family of Acciaioli bought the property and at the end of XVI century the Dal Pozzo family acquired Pietrafitta until the marriage between Maria Vittoria Dal Pozzo of Cisterna D'Asti with Amedeo Duca D'Aosta, that ratified the passage of Pietrafitta in Casa Savoia estate.
Savoia have set up new vineyards and olives trees, investing huge capital goods, and Pietrafitta became one of the most prestigious Italian farm business.
